We had our 3D/4D sonogram last Friday, November 19th. Emmalyn did an excellent job with a little proding to get her to turn in the right direction. She has become very comfortable in her little home and looked snug as a bug in a rug. The best we can tell, she has long legs and feet and a cute little button nose. Check out her photo shoot and a pic of me at 28 weeks.

Emmalyn's Room
My brother, Jason, came and painted the room two weekends ago. The furniture arrived this past weekend, and now her room is coming together. I have definitely caught the nesting bug and had to put everything together right away.

Meet Emmalyn Rose
We had another sonogram last Thursday and found out that Baby Cook is a GIRL! We have decided to name her Emmalyn Rose Cook. She was very active during the sonogram and seemed to like moving her hands in front of her face as you can see from the picture above. She is growing just as she should be and her heartbeat is strong. We will be at the 20 week mark this Thursday and that will mean that we are halfway there!
We met our families after the sonogram for dinner and had Grammy (mama) and Gema (Kathy) open presents to share the news about our little cheerleader. Grammy opened the Build-a-Bear Bulldog with cheerleader outfit and Gema opened the jersey onesie and black tutu. Everyone was very excited!
On Saturday we went to the UGA vs. Arkansas game in Athens. We had a great time, but unfortunately our Dawgs let us down. Emmalyn was not happy about the outcome either as she began kicking heavily during the second half. I think she was shaking her fist and stomping the way her daddy does when the game does not go well. We did do some shopping for her so she can cheer the Dawgs on in style next year. She will be cute no matter what the score! :)

Baby Cook is Growing
Okay, so I know I have had all summer to update this blog with news of our growing family, and I really do not have any good excuses. :) However, I am going to try to squeeze everything in now.
On June 4th Wint and I discovered that we were finally once again expecting. We are looking forward to the arrival around February 10th. We were absolutely thrilled and are still on cloud nine three months later. I never thought I would praise God while hugging the porcelain throne but knowing that each time I got sick meant a healthy baby developing, I did. The first six weeks were quite rough with feeling sick and not having much energy. This required a lot of taking it easy for me, which those that know me well know is my least favorite thing to do. However, I took everyone's advice and did just that.
At four weeks we went for our first checkup and everything looked great. We had another doctor's appointment at eight weeks and were able to have an ultrasound. As anyone who has ever heard the miracle of a heartbeat can attest, it was the most beautiful, wonderful thing I have ever experienced. As hard as I tried not to, I did begin to cry. We also got our first pictures of the little one. At that time, it was about seven centimeters long. A third appointment at eleven weeks included a sonogram where we got to hear the heartbeat again. My doctor told me that everything was looking great and the heartbeat is strong.
Recently I have been feeling much better and have been able to do more during the day without feeling so sick. I still have days that are more like the beginning of my pregnancy but mostly headaches are the biggest symptom now. I am now fourteen weeks and will be going for another appointment next week. We hope to find out what this little one is sometime in September.
Below are some pictures showing my growing belly from the beginning:
